Act I: The Introduction. Okay. So what I REALLY want is a hot tub. But I have no desire to put in the money or effort to maintain one. So I started looking at Jacuzzi-style bathtubs. Nope, don’t want to pay or maintain all of that either. Honestly when I came across this item, I thought it was too good to be true. Something relatively inexpensive that requires minimal maintenance and will still help me with stress as well as aches & pains?!? ***laughs in middle-aged skepticism***

Act II: “The Unboxing.” Me: This looks like someone put a bunch of fish aquarium aerators together and hoped for the best. Anyway it’s here, so I’ll give it a try! I hooked everything up, added some lavender essential oil to the aroma clip (NICE TOUCH BTW), ran the bath and hopped in, fingers crossed.

If you are thinking "does this have enough power?" - ask no longer. I have bathtub that is just a bit longer and deeper than the average, and the LOW setting had water bubbling so fiercely it was jumping out of my bathtub.

I loved it. I'm a lady who loves a ferocious whirlpool tub.

Excellent! Love the scented air feature too. I have a bad lower back and it's a joy to get in the tub. It really relaxes my back. I am very comfortable lying on it in the tub. Great alternative to Jets especially if not in the budget. No issues with it so far. Used it about 6 times. Some of the other reviews I read had some questions and issues. Here are my thoughts on what I found using it. One of them was the suction cups ripping off. I gently pick with my fingernails them off. Very easy to break the suction that way. Another one was the Jets blow cool air when suppose to be heating. The tubing on mine get very warm to touch and works it great. The only thing I noticed that the air coming out near the end of the 20 minutes the air blowing in the tub seems to feel cooler. The tubing is still same temperature. My only guess I am acclimated to the really hot water I put in the tub and I then noticed the jet air is cooler than the tub water. I really actually like it when this happens it feels nice and relaxing but others may not. As for the extra rubber/rings, they are to add to the suction cups in certain places on the mat. Helps keep the mat in place. It's on the last pages of the instructions as how do do it. Very easy to do. I also make sure all the suction cups are working by pushing down on the center of each one to ensure they are suctioned to the tub and stay. I have a smooth tub, not textured. When taking tubing off the mat, I recommend that you wait until cool. It comes apart real easy then than forcing it apart when everything is warm, less chance of ripping. I usually also disconnect the tubing from the machine when I get out so I don't inadvertently get water in the machine via tubing. I imagine that would not be good. Water does get in the mat but easily drained. When everything is apart and drained I hang to dry. All ready for next time. I hope this helps someone who wants to buys this mat, I had these very same question about what I wrote above. I was hesitant at first buying it but I would buy it again now knowing these answers.

Me and my family have greatly enjoyed using this bubble mat. It gets some powerful bubbles going which feels wonderful on tired muscles. I find it really relaxing and comfortable. My kids like it for a different reason, in that it makes mondo bubbles when I add bubble bath. It’s a lot of fun for them and gets them interested in bathing more often. The length of the mat is the perfect size for my tub, which is a pretty standard size I think. It has suction cups on the bottom to help it stay stuck to the bottom of the tub and not float. It’s easy to set up and pretty easy to clean up after too. I empty the bath, flip the mat over and send a shot of air through to blow out any water inside. Then I hang it up over my shower rod. The air machine is pretty compact and doesn’t take up much space. I like how long the power cord is since my outlet is far away from the tub. The air can be controlled on either the machine or by remote which is nice since I put the bubbler a distance away from the tub for safety. It works great. Such a neat idea if a person wants a jacuzzi tub without having to do a major bathroom reno.

The mat is a good size, my tub is longer and deeper than the average tub, and you do get the feeling of a massage even on the lowest setting. However the suction cups are nowhere big enough or strong enough to hold the mat down on the tub. I followed the instructions exactly and the mat will not stay suctioned to the tub even with the added rings. Also the unit itself is quite loud. If i had the opportunity to purchase again I probably would not

EDIT: I'm downgrading this to four stars as a suction cup has torn free of the bubble mat despite following the instructions for safely removing the mat to the best of my ability. They say to slide a fingernail under each suction cup and release them that way. This does not account for those of us who keep our fingernails very short. (Long fingernails are a hazard in my profession.) I believe this could have been prevented by a simple design change: include a tab on one side of each suction cup that can be pulled to release the suction.

Before the pandemic, I was accustomed to using the hot tub after exercising at the local YMCA. They're fully back open now, but I have chosen not to return just yet.

This isn't as good as a soaking tub with whirlpool jets. If you own your own home and have several thousand dollars to spare, by all means, remodel your bathroom and put one of those in. Or install a hot tub; your choice.

But for those of use not in a position to do either of those, this might just be the next best thing. I did find that it doesn't work as well on legs as it does on back, but it works very well on back. It's also pretty much useless for sore feet.

Some caveats: It cools the temperature of your bath very quickly. The bubbles can also lead to water sloshing over the side. My habit is lie down first, start the bubbles when the bath is only about half full, and turn water off with a foot once it's full. And then, after about ten minutes or when the water starts to cool, sit up and add more hot water to the tub.

Lying directly against the mat will make it not work effectively; the bubbles need a little bit of space to form in the water so they can hit your body. Bath pillows can be used to help position to prevent this. (Note to manufacturer: If the plastic disks extended past the top of the mat, and maybe had some cushioning to them for comfort, this problem could be corrected.)

The only other drawback is that my tub isn't big enough for me, but that's a problem with the tub, not this product. The mat fits in it just fine.

I'm revising my review after fully testing, 1. On a slip proof bathtub the suckers won't slip. I remedy that by making sure the bottom of tub was clean and dry and the suction cups, then I used square cut double tape, put one side on bottom of the tub rubbed it with something to secure it, then put suction cup on top side, rubbed that in & it stayed in place.
2. I'm returning the product bcuz it's too loud for me, the motor and the bubbles, there's no way I could relax and meditate or even hear myself think. I was also under the impression that the blue squares were water massage points but no, the water bubbles on the side and is useless for fibromyalgia, herniated discs and curved spine pain, I tried sitting the motor outside the bathroom door, the noise from the motor was gone but I couldn't use the remote because it was out of range.
For a normal person this could be satisfying but for people like me looking for relief because doctors refuse to treat my pain, not so much.
I'm disabled and don't drive so now when I return I'll have to pay for UPS to pick it up, so at this point I'll be shopping Walmart 3rd party vendors they still live up to true meaning of Free returns, nothing against this seller but against Amazon.
I'm in pain and over all the BS
